Newcastle Under Lyme Borough Council have published a proposal to develop land in and around Red Street. The proposal sets out a plan for 788 homes on fields either side of Bells Hollow (Area Marked CT1). Please see the map below.
In addition, a further plan has been proposed for houses and units on the fields around the monument (Area TK30) and further developments in Talke:
We have uncovered some information from the Coal Authority that shows the extent of mining in CT1. We estimate there to be over 100 separate workings.
